Makeney Holidays | Guest Information Guide
Welcome to The Gate House at Makeney Holidays.
This page contains important information to help you prepare for your stay and make the most of the property and its facilities.
Please take a few minutes to read this guide and share it with all members of your group.

Quick Overview
  • Check-in: From 3:00pm
  • Check-out: 10:00am
  • Maximum occupancy: 18 guests
  • Maximum parking: 6 cars
  • Music must be kept indoors and turned down by 11:00pm
  • No glass in the pool or hot tub area
  • Pool and hot tub covers must be replaced after use
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the property.

Arrival and Access
Detailed access instructions are sent privately to confirmed guests approximately 7 days before arrival.
If you have not received your check-in instructions, please contact us before travelling.
 
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in From:  3:00pm
Check-out: 10:00am sharp
Please ensure the property is vacated promptly on departure so our team can prepare for incoming guests.
Parking
There is parking for up to 6 cars.
Please park neatly on the left-hand side of the car park and avoid parking on the grass, patio or paved areas.
Please park in the red marked area on the left. The tenant in the next door house needs access. It is a shared driveway.
 
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi details are provided in your pre-arrival information and are also displayed inside the property.
The Router location is next to the sofa in the upstairs lounge.
 
 
Pool Information
The indoor swimming pool is typically heated to approximately 30°C.
To help maintain the water temperature and reduce energy usage, please replace the pool cover after use.
This is correctly done by first unwinding the wheel turner, then, with 2 people, one at each side, slowly pulling the cover back over the pool
Pool Rules
  • No glass in the pool area
  • No shoes in the pool area
  • No running
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Do not alter pool thermostat
  • Do not touch pumps or chemical equipment
  • Pool Shower is for rinsing only, no shampoos or gels

Hot Tub Information
The hot tub is typically heated to approximately 38°C.
Please replace the cover after every use using the swinging arm. How to do this is shown in the pictures.
Hot Tub Rules
  • Replace the cover after use
  • Turn off jets after use
  • Do not unscrew jets
  • Do not remove headrests
  • Do not add soaps, oils or chemicals
  • No glass in or around the hot tub
  • Children must be supervised
     
 
BBQ
The gas BBQ is ready for guest use.
Please clean the BBQ after use and ensure the gas is fully turned off.
BBQ Rules
  • Clean cooking surfaces after use
  • Turn off and disconnect the gas bottle
  • Do not move the BBQ
  • Dispose of food waste responsibly

     
 
 
 


 
Kitchen Inventory
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, crockery, glassware and serving items.
A detailed inventory is checked after each stay. Missing or damaged items beyond normal wear and tear may be charged at replacement cost.
Please wash all items after use and do not return dirty items to cupboards.
 
Towels and Linen
Each guest is provided with:
  • One bath towel
  • One pool towel
Please do not use towels to remove makeup, clean spills, wipe pets or clean outdoor areas.
Heating and Thermostats
The property ground floor is underfloor heating and is controlled by thermostats.
Please use the controls sensibly and contact us if assistance is required.

The hot water is on an off and on cycle. To Boost the Hot Water press the boost button Highlighted with the arrow.
 
The upstairs is heated by radiators and is on a timer.
Fuse Box and Power Issues
If power trips during your stay, please check the fuse box and reset any switch that has tripped.
If the problem continues, contact us.
 
 


 
Fire Safety
Please familiarise yourself with the location of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
In an emergency, call 999.
Fire Extinguishers located in the upstairs utility room, downstairs hallway and a small one in bedroom 6.
2 x Fire blankets located in the kitchen, next to the window.
Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the property. Smoking inside the property will result in full deposit withheld.
If smoking outside, please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.

 
Rubbish and Recycling
Please place all rubbish in the red Biffa bin by the front gate.
All rubbish should be bagged securely.
Decorations
Decorations are welcome, but please avoid:
  • Tape on painted walls
  • Blu Tack
  • Pins or nails
  • Glitter
  • Confetti balloons
     
White tack may be used if removed carefully after use.
Pets
Pets are permitted only by prior arrangement.
Please do not allow pets on beds or furniture and ensure all pet waste is removed.
TVs and Entertainment
All bedrooms include smart TVs with access to streaming apps.
TV's will be logged into our accounts.
Troubleshooting
Wi-Fi Not Working
  1. Check the router is switched on.
  2. Restart the router.
  3. Forget the network and reconnect.
  4. Contact us if the issue persists.
     
Heating Not Working
Check the downstairs wall thermostats and then contact us.
 
No Hot Water
Please contact us.
Power Has Tripped
Check the fuse box and reset the relevant switch once.
Pool or Hot Tub Issue
Do not adjust settings. Contact us immediately.

Before You Leave
Before departing, please:
  • Remove all rubbish to the red Biffa bin
  • Wash used pots, pans and kitchenware
  • Clean the BBQ if used
  • Replace pool and hot tub covers
  • Turn off hot tub jets
  • Remove decorations
  • Clean up after pets
  • Strip used beds if possible
  • Check you have all personal belongings
     
Please leave the property in a reasonable condition.
 
Additional Charges
Reasonable charges may be applied for additional cleaning, damage, missing items or avoidable call-outs.
Examples include:
  • BBQ left dirty
  • Cigarette ends left outside
  • Unwashed kitchenware
  • Excess rubbish
  • Glitter or confetti cleanup
  • Pool or hot tub misuse
  • Broken glass in wet areas
